Quantum computing is rapidly emerging as one o the most transformative technologies of the 21st century. This lecture provides an accessible and engaging introduction to quantum computing, how it differs from traditional computing, and why governments, industries, and cybersecurity experts around the world are preparing for its impact. Attendees will explore how quantum technologies may revolutionize medicine, artificial intelligence, communications, and scientific discovery, while also creating new challenges for modern encryption and digital privacy. No technical background is required.

Farzin Bahadori, Ph.D.(c), is a cybersecurity and quantum computing educator at Saint Martin’s University, where he teaches courses in cybersecurity, cloud computing, artificial-intelligence, and quantum computing. He holds graduate degrees in Atomic and Molecular Physics and Cybersecurity and previously conducted research in plasma and fusion physics. Farzin served in the U.S. Army in military intelligence and later became a Department of Defense certified instructor.
